Responsibilities

Internships are designed to introduce and build essential, hands-on skills that differ from those attained in the academic arena and help to enhance the transition from student to professional

Interns are assigned duties that will provide a broad, well-rounded leaning experience within transportation engineering

Interns in traffic operations will perform VISSIM and Synchro traffic modeling and be trained in operational analysis

Projects may require a crash history analysis using safety performance functions and crash modification factors, using methods like the Highway Safety Manual

Interns interested in transportation design will utilized MicroStation and Civil 3D AutoCAD for design of roadways, trails, or light rail projects

Required

Candidates must be pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and must have completed at least one year of study

Candidates who have recently graduated with a Bachelor's degree and plan to continue with a Master's degree are eligible to apply for these positions

Recent graduates must have been enrolled in their bachelor's degree in the most recent school term with an interest in pursuing an advanced degree in the same or similar discipline after the internship
