Intern - ACL (Summer)
The State of South Dakota is dedicated to offering services that support older adults and individuals with disabilities. The ACL summer intern will participate in projects to assist the Long Term Services and Supports team, focusing on managing grants and providing technical assistance while learning about various services under the Older Americans Act.

Responsibilities
Assist the Long Term Services and Supports team that manages grants administered through the Administration for Community Living
Assist with administrative duties in managing grants and contracts to ensure subrecipients are adhering to the rules of the grants
Assist in policy development, providing technical assistance to subrecipients, and assisting with monitoring efforts and assessments
Assist with training, volunteer recruitment, and outreach as well as training to assist the Regional Ombudsman with visits to nursing homes and assisted livings
Listen to resident concerns as a presence for the Ombudsman program
Qualification
Required
APPLICANT MUST BE A CURRENT PART-TIME OR FULL-TIME STUDENT (MINIMUM OF 6 CREDIT HOURS) IN UPCOMING SEMESTER OR IN THE IMMEDIATELY PRECEDING SEMESTER
Applicant must be enrolled as a part-time/full-time student at a college, university, or technical institute at the time they apply
By the start of the internship, the student should have completed one year (nine months) of their chosen program
Preferred
Preference Will Be Given To Applicants Studying Or Experience In The Human Services-related Fields (but Not Limited To)
