Assistant Professor of Clinical Practice, Internal Medicine - General Medicine
The University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) is seeking a full-time ambulatory care physician at the rank of Assistant Professor of Clinical Practice within the Division of General Medicine. This role focuses on delivering high-quality, patient-centered clinical care, teaching medical students and residents, and contributing to the academic mission of the department.
Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive outpatient care for adult patients with a wide range of acute and chronic medical conditions
Supervise and teach medical students, residents, and other learners in a clinical and didactic settings
Participate in departmental quality improvement, patient safety, and evidence-based practice initiatives
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams—including nursing, pharmacy, social work, and rehabilitation—to optimize patient outcomes
Contribute to curriculum development, clinical skills training, and academic programs
Qualification
Required
MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
Board certified or board eligible in Internal Medicine
Eligible for medical licensure in the State of Texas
Preferred
Experience in an academic medical center or teaching environment
Demonstrated involvement in scholarly activity, quality improvement projects, or curriculum development
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a collaborative, team-oriented approach
