Research Assistant II
Baylor College of Medicine is seeking a Research Assistant II at the Center for Advanced Innate Cell Therapy within the Texas Children’s Cancer Center. This role involves maintaining mouse colonies, generating tumor models, and testing experimental immunotherapies as part of an interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities
Maintains mouse colonies
Generates tumor models in mice according to the established SOPs and IACUC-approved protocols
Administers drugs and cells to mice, in particular using the intravenous route
Performs daily examinations of mice according to the established SOPs and IACUC-approved protocols
Recognizes signs of pain and distress in animals and ensures proper treatment or euthanasia of sick animals
Collects cells and tissues from animals and works with other researchers to perform downstream analyses including immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescent microscopy, and flow cytometry
Documents results of experiments and reports to principle investigators
Trains and orients less experienced research staff
Defines problems and possible solutions
Oversees the maintenance of lab equipment and environment
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in a Basic Science or a related field
Three years of relevant experience
Preferred
Master's degree in basic science or a related field
Must have experience working with mice
Proficient with intravenous injections
