Responsibilities

Interface with internal and external personnel including senior operations staff, legal, relationship management, IT, banks, brokers, custodians, portfolio managers, and/or traders to obtain information, execute routine transactions and resolve problems
Establish new securities, compliance rules, new accounts, and or new reports to ensure readiness for trading, reconciliation, settlement and/or the client reporting process. Identify and resolve issues associated with client data, trade breaks, reconciliation breaks, and/or compliance breaches. Prepare reports and maintain controls in alignment with internal policies and client needs
Develop an understanding of Principal Asset Management's products, team procedures, and customer needs through self-initiated research, participation in available training programs and involvement in ongoing investment activities

Required

Bachelor's degree, or equivalent, in accounting, finance, economics or business
2+ years of professional or intern experience in investment/mutual fund operations
Knowledge of financial services and investment related terminology

Preferred

Experience with investment reconciliation processes
Strong analytical, problem solving, interpersonal, time management and communication skills required
Knowledge of business applications and software including Microsoft Office (Excel proficiency), preferably Power Query and/or Power BI
Detailed oriented
Client service orientation, the ability to work under pressure in a deadline driven, team-based environment to produce accurate and timely information with limited supervision
