Responsibilities

Obtain medication and health history information from patients over the phone scheduled for surgery or a procedure

Coordinate care and provide patient and family education

Ensure the chart contains the necessary information and documentation

Order labs and testing per anesthesia guidelines/physician order

Review labs/testing results

Work with office staff, physicians, and Chart Prep staff

Qualification

Bachelor of Science in NursingAdult surgical patientsProject leadership experiencePreadmission Planning experiencePediatric patients

Required

Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree required

Project leadership experience required

Experience caring for adult surgical patients within the last 5 years required. Examples include, but are not limited to: Surgical Unit, OR, Perianesthesia Unit or Ambulatory Surgery

Preferred

Previous Preadmission Planning Preferred

Experience caring for pediatric patients preferred. Examples include, but are not limited to: Pediatric Unit, OR, Perianesthesia Unit, Urgent Care, and Emergency Department
