Responsibilities
Manage a team of direct reports including Applications Engineers, Applications Designers, Systems Product Specialists, and Allied Product Specialists
Lead, mentor, and manage the team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement
Oversee workload distribution, performance evaluations, and professional development plans
Provide technical guidance and support to ensure high-quality engineering deliverables
Review and approve facility layouts, equipment specifications, bills of materials, and project plans developed by the team
Ensure alignment of proposed solutions with customer requirements, budget constraints, and operational goals
Serve as a senior technical resource in customer meetings, presentations, and proposal development
Ensure proposals are compelling, accurate, and aligned with customer expectations
Collaborate with project management team to support implementation and commissioning phases
Ensure all engineering outputs meet internal quality standards and comply with industry regulations
Review and validate approval drawings, schematics, and operational documentation
Contribute to the development of engineering standards, best practices, and process improvements
Develop and manage partnerships with manufacturers
Stay up to date on emerging technologies in material handling and automation to guide solution innovation
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field
8+ years of experience in applications engineering or material handling systems design
2+ years of experience in leadership or management role. Experience in an indirect leadership role is also acceptable for an otherwise qualified candidate
Strong understanding of racking systems, conveyors, AS/RS, autonomous vehicles, and related technologies
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
Proven ability to manage multiple projects and lead cross-functional teams
Budget and finance management skills in either capital projects or operations
