Responsibilities

Collecting, preparing and/or testing samples

Keeping an accurate and legible record of all testing completed

Recording, analyzing data and presenting results

Maintaining and cleaning equipment

Ensuring sanitary conditions are always maintained in the laboratory area

Perform other tasks as assigned by the supervisor or manager

Required

Minimum 18 years of age

Eager willingness to learn

Extended shifts may be required

Ability to work unsupervised and be self-motivated

Sound work ethic, honesty, and moral character

Be willing to be cross-trained and learn all tasks in the department

Have basic computer skills

Know how to effectively manage time to complete all assigned tasks

Be able to communicate effectively with other hourly employees, plant management, and USDA personnel
