Director of Finance and Administration
Dartmouth College is seeking a Director of Finance and Administration to provide administrative direction and leadership for its multimillion-dollar student health center. The role involves fiscal planning, program management, and supervision of business and human resources departments while serving as a financial advisor to senior leadership.

Responsibilities
Supervises all financial activity for the cost center. Monitors revenue and expense budget performance, identifying needs and re-allocations, where appropriate, to achieve fiscal and program objectives. Advises Health and Wellness staff on the implementation of budget and accounting procedures and compliance with the approved budget
Develops annual cost center budget of $14 million+; advises department heads on the planning and development of department budgets and grant proposals, and develops budget and manages a $16+ million self-funded student health insurance program
Interprets financial data, conducts financial analyses, provides financial reporting, and responds to financial inquiries for Student Health and Wellness departments, as well as divisional and institutional financial leadership
Evaluates, negotiates, and approves Student Health and Wellness contracts with Dartmouth Health, reference labs, insurers, and other suppliers of goods and services
Establishes policies and fee schedules for appropriate programs
Plans, organizes, and directs the business, human resources, and health insurance departments of the Student Health and Wellness which includes the contracted pharmacy
Supervises, hires, and evaluates exempt and non-exempt staff to meet changing department needs
Consults and provides input to key administrative planning and functions, including but not limited to risk management, human resources, and budgeting
Incorporates the needs of diverse populations in program planning
Collaborates with Department Heads to identify needs, analyze/model alternatives and implement solutions
Consults and provides input to quality improvement initiatives
Serves as Human Resources officer for Student Health and Wellness. With the assistance of the Associate Director of Administration, maintains an appropriate relationship with College Human Resources staff on all personnel matters

Qualification
Required
Bachelors or equivalent combination of education and experience
Strong leadership, planning, organization, supervisory, problem solving, and financial management skills
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with proven commitment to diverse administrative, provider, and student/patient populations
Strong negotiation skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, work efficiently under deadlines, manage details, and address multiple tasks that require rapid responses
Commitment to diversity and to serving the needs of a diverse population
Seven to ten years' experience in health care administration
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or Management
Preferred
Master's degree in Business Administration, Public Health, Public Administration, Health Systems Administration or equivalent combination of education and experience
Knowledge of health insurance design and administration
Prior experience in college health or ambulatory managed care setting
Previous experience with clinical information systems and electronic medical records
Knowledge of regulatory requirements for infirmary and outpatient clinical services
