Responsibilities
Defining and developing comprehensive test strategies, plans, and procedures for new hardware products, covering functional, performance, stress, production and reliability testing
Designing, building, and deploying automated test equipment (ATE), custom test fixtures, and software/scripts to streamline hardware verification and data collection
Executing hands-on testing and troubleshooting of prototypes and production systems using advanced lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and logic analyzers
Leading failure analysis investigations and implementing robust root cause corrective actions to address hardware issues discovered during development or in the field
Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams—including hardware, software, mechanical, and manufacturing—to provide design for testability feedback and support seamless product transitions into production
Creating and maintaining detailed technical documentation, test requirements, and reports; presenting findings and recommendations to stakeholders and management
Driving continuous improvement initiatives for test methodologies and processes, aligning with industry standards such as CMMI and Six Sigma
Mentoring and guiding junior engineers and technicians, fostering a culture of technical excellence and professional growth within the team
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related STEM field
15+ years (BS) or 10+ years (MS) of experience in hardware design, development, or test engineering
Proficiency with laboratory and test equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters, spectrum analyzers)
Strong programming and scripting skills for test automation and data analytics (Python, C/C++, TCL, LabVIEW/TestStand)
In-depth knowledge of electrical/electronic systems, circuit design, PCB layout, and schematic capture tools (Cadence, Altium)
Experience with signal integrity (SI), power integrity (PI), and related simulation tools
Familiarity with regulatory compliance standards (EMC/EMI, UL, CE, military standards)
