Responsibilities
Advise on existing, pending, and developing regulations affecting Roblox, including regulations concerning online UGC platforms, AI, and consumer protection in MENA
Identify new regulatory trends and educate company leadership on their implications
Help create a cross-functional response to legal obligations
Develop and implement procedures, policies and programs to ensure Roblox compliance with applicable laws and regulations in MENA
Analyze complex legal issues and translate analysis into practical advice
Evaluate, engage, and oversee outside counsel in MENA
Liaise and develop strong relationships with relevant regulators in MENA
Provide legal advice and support in relation to local content ratings issues
Respond to requests for compliance advice from engineering, product and marketing teams concerning communications and product releases
Qualification
Required
8+ years of post-qualification relevant legal experience
Experience working with or for a company in the social media, media, or gaming space on a wide range of issues, including internet laws, UGC, product policy, corporate and regulatory matters
Experience engaging with relevant regulators (e.g., media, telecommunications, online safety)
Strong critical judgment and analytical skills with the ability to propose solutions and translate your legal analysis into practical advice, taking into account the needs and objectives of the business
License to practice law in UAE
Deep understanding of relevant regulatory frameworks
Excellent written and oral communication skills in Arabic and English
The ability to work independently and effectively in a remote environment
Excellent organizational and prioritization skills
The ability to handle a diverse and complex workload
The ability to work collaboratively within a small, tightly-knit team
