Engineering Technician, Structural Testing
Tesla is a leading electric vehicle and clean energy company, and they are seeking a Structural Test Engineering Technician to play a critical role in the testing and validation of structural components for commercial vehicle platforms. The role involves conducting structural tests, analyzing data, and collaborating with engineers to ensure product performance and integrity.

Responsibilities
Conduct structural tests, including static and dynamic testing, to validate product performance
Conduct non-destructive testing inspections using primarily dye penetrant testing to detect and evaluate cracks and other defects in materials and components
Analyze test data to identify trends and areas for improvement
Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot test equipment, including data acquisition systems, sensors, and hydraulic systems
Follow test procedures and protocols to ensure consistency and accuracy
Assist in the setup and execution of tests, including preparing test fixtures and specimens
Collect and record test data, and perform basic data analysis
Collaborate with engineers to interpret test results and identify areas for improvement
Develop and maintain technical documentation, including test reports and procedures
Participate in test planning and scheduling to ensure efficient use of resources
Qualification
Required
2+ years of experience in structural testing, mechanical testing, or a related field
Strong understanding of structural mechanics, materials science, and testing principles
Experience with hydraulic systems
Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks
Experience with test equipment and instrumentation, such as load cells, LVDT, potentiometers, and accelerometers
Familiarity with industry standards and regulations, such as ASTM and ASME
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a laboratory or test environment
