Survey Party Chief
STV is seeking a Survey Party Chief for our Survey Group in Dallas or Fort Worth, TX. The role involves leading a survey crew, performing various surveying tasks, and ensuring accurate data collection and documentation while maintaining equipment and vehicle readiness.

Responsibilities
Responsible for performing duties as assigned by the RPLS to complete projects in an accurate, safe, ethical, professional and within a timely manner
Serves as lead on a survey crew and instructs crew members on survey techniques
Upload/Download files of survey data to their proper locations onto the field data collector or office computer
Uses of Trimble surveying equipment including but not limited to GPS, total stations and data collectors to assist with the determination of elevations and property boundaries
Responsible for collecting quality data in the field, keeping good clean documentation of work performed and sketches in a field book and perform accurate simple calculations as needed to complete surveys
Responsible for equipment and vehicle maintenance, ensures vehicle has proper equipment and supplies each morning and returns remaining equipment and supplies at end of shift
Communicate daily with Project Surveyor and/or technician regarding land survey project schedule and work progress
Prepare daily reports, time sheets, and other required paperwork
Qualification
Required
Must have at least 1-3 years of experience with Altas, Boundaries, Construction Staking and Topographic Surveys
Must be able to operate all survey equipment proficiently including but not limited to: Trimble Robotic Total stations, Trimble GPS equipment, levels along with basic computer operating skills
Must be able to work in a fast-paced working environment, be able to read and understand plats and construction plans and interact professionally with clients or their representatives and landowners
Must possess a Proven work history, strong work ethic, team-player attitude and be able to multi-task while directing multiple field personnel to meet client driven deadlines
Must possess the ability to problem solve and think outside the box
Ability to walk long distances over a wide variety of terrains while carrying up to 50 lbs. in all weather conditions
Minimum of a high school diploma/GED required
Valid Driver's License with a good driving record that meets our insurance requirements, be able to pass a drug test and criminal background check
Preferred
TXDOT experience is a plus
