Responsibilities
Develop and maintain Tesla's long-term view of market fundamentals and prices in wholesale electricity markets
Develop long-term revenue forecasts using a combination of internal modeling tools, vendor forecasts, and expert judgments
Develop and maintain medium-term price forecast models, and understand and communicate model limitations and model risk
Serve as a technical representative of the team with prospective customers on our forward-looking views
Monitor market design and policy initiatives to assess their impact on storage monetization in the mid to long-term
Contribute to project structuring and offer design
Qualification
Required
Expertise in at least one of the following: ERCOT, CAISO, SPP markets
3+ years of direct experience in at least one of the following: utility-scale battery investment diligence, long-term price forecasting, electricity markets quantitative analysis
Proficiency in Python and SQL to manipulate, analyze, and visualize complex data sets to extract insights and trends
Experience with running production cost models, long-term capacity expansion, zonal and nodal models
Track record of impacting investment or trading decisions through your own market analysis and insights
Experience on a power trading desk or other exposure to realtime operations
Modeling of energy storage market applications via simulated market dispatch
Preferred
Experience with power flow modeling, node/hub basis risk assessment is a plus
