The role focuses on leading structural projects related to transportation, providing expertise in design, project management, and client liaison while mentoring junior engineers.

Responsibilities
Assist in leading our structural design and engineering group throughout Virginia with development and delivery of structural assignments
Assist with Business Development, Marketing and Team to secure future clients and workload
Provide structural expertise on all project aspects associated with conceptual engineering, detailed engineering designs, and preparation of contract documents for construction followed by construction administration with respect to the structural aspects of the project
Serve as Project/Program Manager on a variety of structure related projects
Produce construction documents, specifications, and construction cost estimates is a plus
Facilitate internal and client meetings, presentations and approval of plans
Serve as liaison between client and firm
QA/QC for completeness and accuracy of design work
Provide bridge inspection for clients as needed
Provide engineering judgment and initiative within the Structural Engineering field
Hire, train, and mentor entry level and junior level structural engineers
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering
Minimum (15) years of bridge design experience
Excellent communication skills including proposal development
Professional Engineer (P.E.) in Virginia
Preferred
VDOT structures/bridge experience, including experience on VDOT DB Projects
Master's degree in Structural Engineering
Completion of NHI 80 hour bridge inspection training or equivalent training
