Responsibilities

Manage and service a portfolio of assigned commercial loans ensuring overall portfolio performance and asset quality remains strong including timely covenant testing and completion of periodic annual reviews
Ensure early identification of risk in the credit through review of gathered documentation
Analyze financial statements, industry risks, collateral, credit structure for possible deterioration in the overall credit risk profile of the borrower
Review loan documents comparing them to the approved CAM to ensure loan documents are executed in accordance with the CAM and loan policy
Make appropriate recommendation for an upgrade or downgrade to ensure timely risk rating of the credit
Prepare CAR/Watch Reports for credits that are risk rated Pass Watch, participate in CAR/Watch meeting(s)
Test covenants of assigned credits to ensure adherence with financial covenants requirements included in the loan documents
Review and make recommendation for resolution of covenant violations or needed modifications/forbearance including oversight and review of necessary documentation
Manage assigned commercial loan portfolio exceptions through customer contact to ensure delivery of financial statements, tax returns and other required financial information under the loan agreement and ongoing servicing of the credit
Review and ensure documents are uploaded to the document repository and ensure ticklers are appropriately maintained
Monitor and collection of delinquent loans in accordance with state and federal laws and regulations
Coordinate through closing or with legal counsel the preparation legal notifications to borrower including notification of events of default, forbearance agreements, modifications etc

Required

Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance or Business Administration or equivalent experience
A Minimum of four (4) years of commercial portfolio management or commercial credit underwriting or six (6) year's comparable combination of portfolio management, underwriting, and loan administration experience
An equivalent combination of education and experience with commercial loans and underwriting may meet qualifications
Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, plus a good understanding of the Internet environment
Excellent planning and time management skills as well as strong interpersonal and communication skills including verbal, written, and presentational skills
Able to work with all levels of management
Highly organized and detail oriented with the ability to meet and manage critical deadlines and assist with project management
Able to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a high-volume environment
Take initiative and make independent decisions in the best interest of the Credit Union and Member

Preferred

Strong knowledge of commercial lending products, credit policy, loan documentation and administration requirements and legal and regulatory guidelines
Able to interpret credit union and regulatory policy and guidelines to prevent issues and errors
Analyze and interpret complex documents, to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
The ability to empathize and effectively respond to sensitive issues or complaints mitigating potential escalation utilizing independent judgement and initiative in developing appropriate solutions to problems
Possess a thorough knowledge and understanding of federal, state and NCUA regulations as well as commercial loan documentation experience or equivalent experience in a financial industry
Professional appearance, demonstration of poise and tact and a pleasant courteous personality
