Responsibilities

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement network solutions that support the business requirements of 400+ branch locations including 3 operation centers and one data center

Executes enterprise network design (functional and technical), planning, and implementation

Coordinate with SecOps to design, implement and support security policies, access controls, and data protection mechanisms

Designing, implementing, testing and maintaining disaster recovery solutions for networking environments, collaborating with cloud engineering where necessary to ensure a robust communications backbone

Working within our Service Cloud ticketing environment to accurately track, prioritize, and manage incidents, service requests, and change management processes

Work with business units to schedule after hours systems maintenance and independently execute with minimum supervision

Lead, mentor and provide guidance to junior network administrators

Lead efforts around capacity planning and optimization to ensure efficient network utilization, scalability, and redundancy

Collaborating with vendors and third-party providers to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, as well as managing vendor relationships

Maintaining up-to-date documentation, including system configurations, processes, and procedures, to facilitate knowledge sharing and enhance team efficiency

Conducting regular audits and vulnerability assessments alongside the SecOps team to identify and mitigate security risks, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations

Mentor team members and serve as a point of escalation for network support requests

Continuously staying updated on emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices related to networking and cyber security then proactively applying that knowledge to improve system performance and reliability

Test and troubleshoot multi-homed, multi-carrier internet BGP failover configurations

Perform network capacity planning, anticipating future growth needs and recommending infrastructure upgrades or enhancements

Participate in the evaluation and selection of new network hardware and software

Coordinate with network equipment vendors and service providers to resolve issues and ensure the timely delivery of services

Required

Bachelor's degree or certification in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent work experience

8+ Years experience in a network engineering role with progressively responsible experience

8+ Years implementing and administering network monitoring solutions utilizing industry leading solutions

5+ Years hands on experience designing, implementing and supporting Fortinet solutions such as FortiSwitch, FortiGate, FortiAP, FortiManager,and FortiMonitor

5+ Years experience managing network-based DNS and DHCP services

2+ Years administering FortiGate or equivalent SD-WAN solutions

2+ Years experience with ZTNA technologies

1+ Years experience as a technical team lead

1+ Years experience with FortiAuthenticator and FortiAnalyzer

Deep knowledge of routing protocols such as BGP

Great interpersonal skills

Excellent written and oral communication skills to communicate with team members, other departments, upper management, and partners

Ability to maintain a keen attention to detail, multi-task, and work well under pressure

Natural tendency to be curious, positive, and creative

Cooperative ability to adapt and manage change in the workplace
