Responsibilities
Provide technical support of database environments including software installation, database creation, upgrades, patches, problem diagnosis, performance monitoring, maintenance, process automation, evaluation, and tuning recommendations
Contribute to application development in all aspects of database integration including the deployment of requested database code and configuration changes, as well as reviewing SQL statements and guiding developers on best practices around how to interact with the database
Maintain a Highly Available database environment through the implementation and support of backup and restore capabilities, data replication, Disaster Recovery procedures and exercises, and failover to standby databases
Review project requests to estimate time, cost, and infrastructure required to successfully deliver the desired outcomes
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university or equivalent work experience
5+ years of Hands-on database administration experience with Oracle database platform, including proficiency with Linux Server
Demonstrated performance monitoring and tuning ability, including an aptitude to lead the diagnosis and resolution of performance problems within a large-scale, complex infrastructure
Expertise in one or more of the following: database partitioning, database compression, data encryption, replication, disaster recovery, and database security
Functional experience with Linux (or other unix) operating systems
A strong communicator who can explain complex technical concepts to leadership, designers, support, and other technical resources
A team player who enjoys helping onboard new team members, mentoring, and teaching others
Practices and adheres to the 'Code of Conduct' philosophy and 'Mission and Value Statement.'

Master's degree
Experience writing or maintaining unix-based shell scripts (bash/korn), python, or other high-level scripting languages to automate database maintenance and operational processes
