Assistant Professor of Construction Management - Civil Engineering and Construction Management #26-05
California State University, Northridge (CSUN) is seeking a tenure-track faculty member in Construction Management at the rank of Assistant Professor. The successful candidate will teach Construction Management courses at both undergraduate and graduate levels and will be involved in curriculum development, student advisement, and research in the field.

Responsibilities
Teach Construction Management courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels
Provide advisement to undergraduates and supervision of graduate students
Participate in curriculum development, assessment, and accreditation
Participate in professional student organizations as required
Hold weekly office hours and attend faculty meetings
Participate in assessment of student learning and service to the department, college, and university
Teach on weekdays, evenings, weekends, and/or online as required
Qualification
Required
Ph.D. and B.S. in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a closely related discipline from an accredited institution. ABD (All But Dissertation) candidates will be considered but must complete the doctoral degree before August 19, 2026
Teaching experience or strong potential to teach in Construction Management or Civil Engineering related courses at the College/University level, in-person, and/or online
Published at least two papers in peer-reviewed conferences or journals within the last 5 years
Preferred
Evidence of effective engagement or potential to engage with a diverse student body
Experience using culturally responsive pedagogy that leads to equitable outcomes for all students
Experience creating a student-centered learning environment
Research/Lab experience that includes working with students from diverse backgrounds
Experience adopting inclusive approaches to mentoring
At least 3 years of industry experience in construction management or construction engineering
Demonstrated excellence in teaching courses in construction management or construction engineering
Demonstrated ability to conduct research in the field of construction management or construction engineering in the research statement
Participation in grant proposal preparation, either as PI or Co-PI
