Responsibilities
Perform preventative maintenance and routine inspections on heavy-duty trucks and trailers
Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues using diagnostic tools and software
Conduct repairs on brakes, suspensions, HVAC systems, and other vehicle systems
Maintain accurate records of services, repairs, parts used, and time spent on each job
Ensure all work complies with company safety policies and federal DOT regulations
Inspect and replace defective or worn parts using appropriate tools and equipment
Operate hoists, cranes, and hand/power tools in a safe and efficient manner
Collaborate with other technicians and communicate effectively with supervisors about repair needs and timelines
Perform emergency roadside repairs when necessary
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or GED required
2+ years of experience as a diesel mechanic or heavy truck technician
Valid driver's license
Knowledge of diesel engines, air brake systems, and electrical systems
Must be physically able to lift heavy parts, bend, squat, and work in confined spaces
Preferred
Technical training or diesel certification preferred
CDL is a strong plus
