Coherent Corp. is a global leader in lasers, engineered materials and networking components. They are seeking an Optical Fiber Test and Assembly Technician to assemble and test optical fibers, document manufacturing processes, and assist engineers as needed.

Responsibilities

Work per standard operating procedures – Assembling and Testing Optical Fibers

Document the manufacturing process as required

Inspect parts/assemblies under microscope

Perform basic equipment maintenance & calibration

Complete rework on assemblies and/or systems as a result of testing

Assist recommending solutions to technical problems

May assist in the selection and set-up of specialized test equipment

Assist engineers as needed

Cross-training in other areas as needed

Qualification

Optical Fiber TestingEquipment MaintenanceData Entry in ExcelMicroscope InspectionHand-Eye Coordination

Required

High school diploma or equivalent

Previous experience or practice executing delicate tasks with small, fragile parts

Computer literacy including data entry in Excel

Ability to see details at close range

Excellent hand to eye coordination
