Data Center Engineer
NetActuate is seeking a Data Center Engineer to manage and support their on-premise and cloud-based server infrastructure. The role involves day-to-day management of physical datacenters, including hardware management and customer support, while also participating in project-oriented agile environments.

Responsibilities
Day-day management on-premise of physical datacenter(s) including working with hardware (our own and customers)- rack/stack, cabling, configuration, etc
We make use of slack, zoom, whatsapp and Skype for internal and external communication and you are expected to be available during your expected work hours. You may be required to work additional hours to continue work on projects, or during schedules that do not impact customer use of infrastructure
Expected to work on assigned shift schedule unless provided a different schedule by your manager. May be called upon for other projects or assignments with reasonable notice of schedule changes/modifications
Switch and network monitoring/troubleshooting/configuration
Interact with customers in a support role to handle infrastructure and systems related issues
Work as a lead both in the datacenter and with the support team as the senior escalation contact for physical/network/service issues and coordinate to resolution
Write runbooks for ansible or other Devops; ability to work with software developers on planning and platform deployments that may include Linux, BSD with various clustering
Qualification
Required
Experience in developing and implementing on-premise and cloud-based server infrastructure
Experience designing, deploying, operating and supporting Hypervisors, Storage, networking, DNS
Strategic agility and good decision-making skills
Ability to work well in a collaborative, team-oriented environment
Strong customer-service orientation
Ability to solve problems at a tactical and functional level
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Solid work ethic and unquestioned integrity
Day-to-day management of physical datacenter(s) including working with hardware (rack/stack, cabling, configuration, etc.)
Availability during expected work hours and willingness to work additional hours as needed
