Tech Support Engineer

NetActuate is seeking a Tech Support Engineer to provide technical support for web hosting services. The role involves interacting with customers, troubleshooting issues, and performing server maintenance and monitoring tasks.

Responsibilities

Multiple responsibilities related to server installation and maintenance, network and server monitoring, customer support tickets and other duties as assigned as described
Interact with customers in a support role to handle technical support for infrastructure and systems related issues
Expected to work on assigned shift schedule unless provided a different schedule by your manager. Reasonable notice will be provided of schedule changes/modifications
We make use of slack, zoom, whatsapp and Skype for internal and external communication and you are expected to be available during your assigned schedule
Expected to be proficient in web hosting technologies, especially DNS and email
Familiarity with Linux/Unix command line
Will have/working towards:
Knowledge of cPanel and Web Host Manager
Some experience with scripting- HTML, PHP/MySQL, Perl, CGI, etc
Skills in setting up FTP and Email clients

Required

Familiar with various web hosting control panels – Web Host Manager, cPanel, DirectAdmin, etc
Familiar with installing, configuring and troubleshooting common web applications based on the LAMP stack like WordPress, Joomla, and Magento
Comfortable working with and understanding customer requirements and issues
Familiar with a tech support environment – responding to tickets via a ticket system, phone calls via a tech support queue and escalating to senior engineers
Strong drive to learn more about linux
Light familiarity with the linux command line
