Maintenance Technician (Levels II & III)

Responsibilities
Understands, follows and enforces all established safety, health, quality GMP and Company policies, procedures and recognized practices
Engages in the welding and fabrication of parts as required based on design build specs
Performs PM (Preventative Maintenance) and PdM (Predictive Maintenance) tasks as assigned
Performs a wide variety of mechanical maintenance and repair of production equipment and machinery using a variety of hand, gas and electrically powered tools
Responds to emergency calls and makes immediate repairs to prevent equipment down time
Participates in machinery troubleshooting
Assembles and re-assembles equipment; examines and tests mechanisms
Inspects and calibrates instrumentation
Tests equipment and adjusts calibration to ensure equipment is functioning within specified standards
Interprets technical documents (prints, manuals etc.) as required
Promotes occupational safety standards; gives others feedback on their safety performance
Performs electrical installations/troubleshooting; installs wiring and conduit safely in compliance with company, state and federal regulations
Trains and oversees Maintenance Technician I in troubleshooting, installation and repairs of mechanical and electrical systems
Assist and train production employees in proper operation and maintenance of machinery
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution is required
Minimum 3-5 years of proven plant maintenance mechanic experience
Experience working with automation equipment
Experience determining cause of machine downtime, poor quality or performance
Experience installing support equipment, machines, hoses, basic wiring and lubrication
Previous experience utilizing a CMMS system (Computer Maintenance Management Software)
Experience operating company vehicles and equipment (Forklifts, man lifts, crane etc.)
Ability to wire 3 phase motors, change out fuses and reset motor breakers
Ability to read electrical one-line diagrams
Ability to maintain regular, predictable, and punctual attendance
Proficient in computers and MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook)
Excellent verbal and written communication, including the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
Communicates effectively: conveys facts and information clearly both verbally and orally
Ability to work overtime and weekend as necessary
Flexibility in schedule changes with little notice
Collaborates well with others proactively contributes to group objectives; volunteers to help others
Knowledge of general maintenance activities and procedures
Ability to provide own tools and roll away toolbox (Standards will be given at time of hire)
Preferred
Two-year Associate Degree in Industrial Maintenance or related field
