Responsibilities
Engineer, build, and support SQL Server and SQL Clustering in a high-availability environment
Ensure reliable and seamless SQL Server failover, including configuration of permissions, service accounts, group policies, and supporting services
Provide SQL database optimization and performance tuning support
Document accurate and repeatable build processes for SQL Server clusters
Mentor SMEs on SQL Server clustering, patching, and STIG compliance procedures
Build, configure, and restore on-premises Microsoft Exchange services in a disconnected, stand-alone enclave
Assure Outlook connectivity in an on-premises Microsoft Office environment
Document accurate build and troubleshooting processes for Exchange environments
Mentor SMEs on Exchange patching, troubleshooting, and STIG compliance procedures
Configure and optimize Active Directory, group policies, organizational units, and containers
Provide expertise in DHCP, DNS, Network Policy Service, and RADIUS
Manage and optimize Certificate Authority (CA) and PKI, coordinating with subcontractors for integration in the closed network
Ensure optimal backup and recovery leveraging ExaGrid backup solutions, Dell VXRail Hyperconverged Infrastructure (HCI), and VMware environments
Qualification
Required
Active DoD Secret clearance (required at time of application)
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science IT, or related field with a minimum of 12 years relevant experience, including 8+ years supporting enterprise-scale Windows as a Subject Matter Expert
Proven experience as a Microsoft SQL Server SME in enterprise and classified/high-security environments
Expertise with SQL clustering, high availability solutions, and performance optimization
Hands-on experience with Microsoft Exchange on-premises deployment, support, and recovery
Strong knowledge of Active Directory, group policy, DHCP, DNS, PKI, and certificate services
Experience with enterprise backup and recovery solutions, including ExaGrid, Dell VXRail, and VMware
Familiarity with STIG compliance, DoD cybersecurity standards, and patch management
Strong mentoring and documentation skills, with the ability to train SMEs in troubleshooting and repeatable build processes
Ability to work effectively in a disconnected, closed enterprise network environment
