Vice President of Power Commercialization

Responsibilities
Define and Develop Offerings: Identify unique opportunities for Carbon Direct in the power sector based on current and emerging client needs. Pinpoint potential high-value, high-impact consulting and product offerings for our clients. Utilize the knowledge gained through customer discovery to collaborate with technical leads to package and commercialize grid modeling, technology assessment, and related analytical services
Lead Commercial Strategy: Define and execute the go-to-market plan for Carbon Direct’s Power business across consulting and digital products, leveraging deep familiarity with customers and competitors. Demonstrate strong commercial judgment and a nuanced understanding of technical issues to inform market positioning and growth strategy
Client Leadership: Build and maintain senior relationships with key accounts; identify and pursue strategic growth opportunities. Translate complex technical concepts into clear commercial value for clients and stakeholders
Drive Revenue Growth: Own and expand a book of business with large tech clients, technology providers, utilities, and other power market participants. Stay on top of emerging opportunities, dynamically adapt offerings, and forecast client needs to outpace the competition
Cross-functional Leadership: Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Science teams to shape scalable, market-aligned solutions. Work closely with the Chief Innovation Officer to help build and align the technical team, while maintaining primary responsibility for commercial strategy and execution
Qualification
Required
Proven expertise in the power, energy, or climate technology sectors. Experience working with or at a data center hyperscaler is a strong plus
Proven track record selling power-related offerings into large enterprises (utilities, hyperscalers, grid operators, or energy buyers)
Experience building and commercializing analytical or technical services
Strategic seller who can translate complex modeling and scientific capabilities into client value
Entrepreneurial mindset; comfortable building a business line and owning outcomes
Strong leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills
Existing relationships or book of business in the power, energy, or climate technology sectors
Experience in commercializing software or digital products in energy analytics
Understanding of grid modeling, renewable integration, or power market dynamics
Preferred
An advanced degree in engineering, power systems, energy economics, or a related field is preferred
