Responsibilities
Design and deliver robust wire harness solutions from concept to production, creating 3D routing models and 2D fabrication drawings
Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and systems engineers to develop system integration plans, ensure electrical integrity, and streamline the transition from design to manufacturing
Own the component selection process for connectors, terminals, wire, and protection (sleeving, conduit) to meet all system performance, environmental, and cost requirements
Create and maintain all critical design documentation, including electrical schematics, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and engineering change orders (ECOs) to ensure product accuracy
Support manufacturing and integration teams by troubleshooting build challenges, resolving design issues, and ensuring all assemblies meet quality and compliance standards
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a similar technical field
6+ years of experience in developing electrical wire harnesses, routing in complex assemblies, and creating 2D/3D CAD documentation
Expertise in CAD software for harness design and routing (e.g., RapidHarness, SolidWorks Electrical, etc)
Proficiency in reading and creating electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
Solid understanding of version control for design files and managing documentation releases to production
Familiarity with IPC/NASA/etc harness design standards
Preferred
Knowledge of industry standards for cable and harness assembly
Hands-on experience with harness fabrication, including crimping, soldering, and building prototypes
Familiarity with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software
