Mechanical Engineer II - CAD
RTX is a leading company in defense and engineering, dedicated to helping the nation and allies. The Mechanical Products Team is seeking a CAD Design Engineer to design major components and improve products, utilizing advanced engineering systems and tools.

Responsibilities
Develops or improves products, test equipment, or manufacturing processes. Develops data and makes parametric models, layouts, sketches, and notes for design proposals
Investigates pertinent design factors such as ease of manufacture, availability of materials, interchangeability, replaceability, strength-weight efficiency, and contractual specification requirements and cost
Designs, develops and tests metallic or non-metallic structures or materials and their related fabrication processes for use in engineering designs
They will solve routine problems of varying scope and complexity following established policies and procedures with minimal direction or supervision
Qualification
Required
Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or in absence of a degree, an additional 2 years of experience is required
2 years of experience with CREO Parametric (Pro/Engineer) solid modeling CAD software or similar (SolidWorks, CATIA, Inventor)
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Preferred
Understanding of basic principles, theories, and concepts for creation and preparation of engineering design documentation
Technical knowledge sufficient to perform tasks such as preparation/changes to drawings/models and create new 3D models and drawings with general direction
Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) including simple tolerance analysis
Interpret, apply, and make decisions regarding the application of documentation specification such as MIL-STD-31000, Y14.5M, ASME Y14.24 and ASME Y14.100
Knowledge of mechanical fabrication processes and techniques
