System Administrator

NetActuate is seeking a System Administrator who is self-motivated and has excellent troubleshooting skills. The role involves maintaining and supporting technical infrastructure, responding to customer support inquiries, and managing server and network issues.

Responsibilities

We make use of slack, zoom, and whatsapp for internal and external communication and you are expected to be available during your expected work hours
You may be required to work additional hours to continue work on projects, be on call in case of emergency, or work during schedules that do not impact customer use of infrastructure
Respond professionally and in a timely manner to customer support inquiries by phone and email. Continued communication with customers to ensure customer support SLAs are met/exceeded
Maintain and support the technical infrastructure – servers, firewalls, network devices
Respond to monitoring alerts for server and network issues
Troubleshoot server slowdowns and errant behavior, based on specific procedures
Setup new servers following documented procedures – hardware assembly, rack installation, OS installation
Manage escalation of issues to senior staff and vendors, and provide clear communication/updates of the issues
Communicate to remote datacenter facilities to facilitate remote hands operations to resolve customer issues
Provide situational awareness to the team through email and chat communications

Required

Must be self motivated

Passionate about open source software, servers, and datacenters
