Senior Contract Analyst

Responsibilities
Assist with research contract execution, including assisting Director with negotiation, drafting and execution of all incoming and outgoing research contracts
Review legal contracts to analyze for terms & conditions relevant to IP, business law, federal and state regulations
Serves as liaison between UNT faculty, research divisions, academic departments to ensure timely and customer-focused support for execution of research contracting
Assist the Director with developing, managing and updating research contracting procedures and processes
Assist with research contacting database management and reporting, ensuring accuracy in reporting
Negotiate and communicate features of a contract with external and internal parties
Identify and incorporate continuous changes in federal and state policy and procedures to maintain compliance in research contracting
Communicates regularly with Director of Research Contracting and other research administration staff to ensure efficient and effective research contracting operations. Other duties and special projects as assigned by supervisor
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, Higher Education or related field and five years of related professional work experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience
Paralegal or transactional contract experience
Extensive knowledge of federal agency grant/contract regulations
Considerable knowledge of contract law
Superior writing, speaking and general communications skills
Ability to negotiate and to synthesize many kinds of information effectively in pursuit of general and specific objectives
General understanding of the function and mission of higher education and specific knowledge of the dynamics of a university
Knowledge of and facility in using electronic data storage and communications systems
Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships
Knowledge of safety, security, and confidentiality precautions appropriate to work performed
Preferred
Paralegal certification/degree preferred
