Responsibilities
Prepare catenary reports, plans, calculations, specifications, and estimates of OCS projects
Perform design calculations and develop specifications to fulfill clients’ needs
Design layout plans, wire profiles, and catenary support structures, including cantilevers, portals, head spans, OCS hardware and grounding and bonding
Work independently on catenary projects, as well as work within a team environment as you design new catenary systems and modifications to existing catenary systems
Interact with other Jacobs’ engineers throughout the company, engineers from other firms, and project staff from various rail agencies on OCS designs
Assist the development of initial design concepts and labor estimates for proposals
Qualification
Required
Bachelor of Science degree in Civil/Structural Engineering
Substantial professional experience in the design of catenary systems
AutoCAD/MicroStation experience
Ability to travel when needed
Preferred
Professional Engineer (PE) license
