EPC (Engineering, Procurement & Construction) Project Manager
M.J. Electric is a reputable company in the electrical utility construction sector, looking for an EPC Project Manager to join their team. The role involves overseeing the execution of EPC projects, providing project management support, and ensuring effective coordination with engineering service partners and other teams throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities
Understand project scopes and communicate requirements associated with risks to ensure compliance with contractual terms
Focus on meeting client expectations and deliverables
Define and document Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and scope of work packages for third-party EPC firms
Lead the selection process for engineering partners and negotiate engineering scope of work contracts
Review technical and regulatory information (drawings, schematics, estimates) provided by Owners, Clients, and Engineering firms
Collaborate with the Estimating Team and Operations to conduct constructability reviews and project pricing
Work closely with third-party design engineers and customers to ensure efficient coordination and adherence to contracting requirements, budgets, forecasts, and schedules
Remove engineering and procurement barriers to facilitate construction progress
Collaborate with Owners/Clients on project planning and scheduling
Assess project issues and identify solutions to ensure timely and budget-compliant project delivery
Regularly appraise project progress against established goals and timelines
Assist in developing and tracking key project performance metrics
Conduct site visits as needed and coordinate with independent engineering firms
Facilitate discussions with detailed project plans and high-level status dashboards to track progress against milestones
Continuously monitor ongoing projects to ensure compliance with established specifications and tolerances
Oversee job costing processes with the construction PM to ensure accurate tracking of project expenses and resource allocation
Collaborate with project team to develop and maintain project budgets, ensuring alignment with overall company financial goals
Keep MJE Senior Management informed about project progress, business opportunities, and industry trends
Provide consultation to Utilities, Clients, and Owners regarding design requirements and job specifications while acting as the technical expertise for design solutions
Qualification
Required
Excellent communication skills, maintaining effective exchanges in stressful situations
High emotional intelligence to foster collaboration and a positive team culture, with strong conflict resolution skills
Strong problem-solving abilities with creativity and foresight
Willingness to travel overnight for field support and meetings
Ability to lead project communication and oversee multiple projects across a large area
Effective in both team environments and independent work
Proficient in MS Office
Minimum of 5 years in power systems/utility-scale construction with a proven track record in managing complex projects
Undergraduate degree in engineering, project management, construction management, business administration, or equivalent experience
Electrical industry license (e.g., Master Electrician) or equivalent experience
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent project management certification is highly desirable
Preferred
Experience with AutoCAD or MicroStation
Familiarity with Primavera scheduling software
Preferred experience in finance and budgeting
Professional Engineering License
