Responsibilities
Lead and manage fire protection and life safety design for projects of varying size and complexity
Perform code consulting, life safety analyses, and performance-based design reviews
Design fire suppression, fire alarm, and smoke control systems in compliance with NFPA, IBC, IFC, and local codes
Coordinate project deliverables with architects, MEP teams, and contractors to ensure quality and timeliness
Provide client-facing leadership, including technical presentations, progress updates, and design coordination meetings
Mentor junior staff and contribute to technical training and development
Support proposal efforts, project scoping, and (optionally) business development activities
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Fire Protection, Mechanical, or related engineering discipline
Professional Engineer (PE) license in Fire Protection (required or ability to obtain)
8+ years of fire protection engineering experience in a consulting or design environment
In-depth knowledge of NFPA standards, IBC/IFC, and local building/fire codes
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and fire protection design software (e.g., HydraCALC, AlarmCAD)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with proven client interaction experience
Strong time management and organizational skills to succeed in a remote work environment
