Director, Advanced Planning Solutions

Responsibilities
Communicate Advanced Planning Team capabilities and value proposition to financial professionals and internal teams
Present case studies and promote APT at advisor forums including affiliate firm presentations, and national conferences
Monitor team activities utilizing Salesforce, including activity and opportunity tracking, volume of planning opportunities and implemented assets
Monthly reporting on team progress relative to established goals
Provide ongoing training and support for all APT members
Actively participate in high-net-worth opportunity discovery and presentations
Conduct bi-weekly open opportunity pipeline meetings with all team members to facilitate implementation strategy
Oversee the development and results of asset-based lending program and consultants
Facilitate resources to address financial professional advanced planning questions through tax and estate planning specialist(s)
Promote involvement and collaboration between APT members and Cetera SME resources from internal teams including risk, annuity, advisory and alternative investments
Leadership and Collaboration with Internal Teams: build strong relationships with our affiliated advisors, APT team members, internal business partners, and specialists by fostering collaboration
Follow up with fellow APT team members to ensure that all advisor requests and issues are promptly addressed, and interaction details are properly documented and shared internally
Promote the Advanced Planning team capabilities to advisors, regional growth teams, and prospective affiliates to Cetera Financial Group
Qualification
Required
Proven success in leading, mentoring, and developing advanced planning teams focused on high-net-worth (HNW) client strategies
12+ years of experience in client- or advisor-facing roles involving complex HNW financial planning
FINRA Series 7 & 63 licenses required
Deep understanding of trust structures, estate planning, and legacy strategies
Additional securities licenses and professional designations may be required
Proficient in financial planning software such as eMoney or MoneyGuidePro
Strong ability to evaluate and analyze investment opportunities
Knowledge of business succession planning, valuation, and exit strategies
Experience implementing charitable giving and philanthropic strategies
Expertise in insurance and risk management solutions
Familiarity with alternative investment vehicles including 1031 exchanges, Qualified Opportunity Zones (QOZs), REITs, exchange funds, and energy-based programs for portfolio diversification
Solid understanding of regulatory frameworks, suitability standards, and concentration limits related to HNW investment recommendations
Proficient in Microsoft Office tools, especially PowerPoint and Excel, for creating impactful presentations and supporting strategic recommendations
Experience using Salesforce for tracking, reporting, and client engagement
Deep knowledge of investment advisory platforms and portfolio construction
Demonstrated leadership in training, coaching, and elevating team performance
Ability to create and deliver comprehensive financial plans and client-facing presentations
High-energy self-starter with a proactive approach to problem-solving and innovation
Strong analytical skills with the ability to integrate solutions across financial planning disciplines and influence senior stakeholders in a cross-functional environment
Proven track record of meeting business objectives related to asset growth, revenue generation, and profitability
Preferred
Life insurance license preferred
CFP® designation preferred or equivalent experience
Bachelor's degree in business, finance, economics, accounting, or a related field preferred
