PT Records Management Specialist
The City of Murphy is committed to exceptional service delivery and seeks a Records Management Specialist to join their team. In this role, you will manage the city's records management activities, ensuring compliance with public information laws and providing support and training across departments.

Responsibilities
Assists with the implementation, administration, and continuous improvement of the records management program
Coordinates records management activities with all City departments to ensure effective and efficient compliance with all applicable laws and regulations; ensures compliance of records based on retention schedules; participates in developing and implementing City document and records management programs, and coordinates the bi-annual destruction of records process for the City
Coordinates responses to public information requests including gathering requested information across departments; reviewing responsive information for validity/approval; coordinating any requests for an opinion through the City Attorney; accessing charges in compliance with State law; and administering the records request tracking software; routes incoming open records request to the appropriate departments as needed
Provides support for the records management software; provides document and records management training on applicable software systems to City staff and oversees the conversion of paper records to other storage media to ensure accurate, high-quality records, and efficient viewing and reproduction methods
Collaborates with department record liaisons, ensures that the maintenance, preservation, microfilming, destruction, or other disposition of City Records is carried out in accordance with the policies and procedures of the Records Management Program and the requirements of Texas Law
Provides responsive, high-quality service to internal/external customers by providing accurate, complete, and up-to-date information in a courteous, efficient, and timely manner
Responsible for the preparation of City boards and commission agenda packets, postings, and taking meeting minutes; attends evening monthly meetings as needed including Planning & Zoning Commission, Board of Adjustment, Murphy Municipal Development District Board and Murphy Community Development Corporation Board
Performs a wide variety of special projects and duties as they relate to records management and archiving activities
Provides administrative support to the City Secretary’s Office by:
Preparing and reviewing correspondence, reports, forms, schedules, presentations, various documents, and other materials for accuracy and proper format
Assists the City Secretary with time sensitive tasks as needed
Conducting research and surveys; consulting reference sources to obtain information needed; assembling information; compiling and analyzing statistical data; preparing various reports; reading, comprehending and evaluating various reports, documents
Qualification
Required
A High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
Three (3) years of related work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
Valid State of Texas class C driver's license
