Internship - Geometry-Aware Surrogate Modeling for Fluid Dynamics
Mitsubishi Electric Research Laboratories (MERL) is seeking a highly motivated Ph.D. student for a research internship in machine learning for fluid dynamics. The role involves developing surrogate models for free-surface flows using advanced neural architectures and requires strong programming skills in Python.

Responsibilities
Develop geometry-aware and physics-informed surrogate models for complex flow systems
Combine high-fidelity simulations with modern neural architectures
Publish the results obtained during the internship
Qualification
Required
Ph.D. student in engineering, applied mathematics, computer science, or related fields
Solid background and publication record in operator learning, graph neural networks and geometric learning, particle-based methods, or differentiable simulation frameworks
Programming skills in Python
Experience with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or JAX
Publication of the results obtained during the internship is expected
