Responsibilities

Assists and leads in the development of new methods and procedures, as needed
Performs the duties of a Medical Technologist II
Trains technologists on new laboratory methods/instruments and ensures compliance with accepted practices with a high level of expertise
Maintains compliance of area-specific documentation for essential technical, IT, quality, educational, and/or safety information, including policies, procedures, performance trends, and compliance logs
Maintains and troubleshoots instrument performance
Provides input into the performance evaluations/competency checks of technologists, technicians, and other personnel, including students and residents
Other duties as assigned

Medical Technologist NYSHistotechnologist (HTL) NYSMedical Laboratory ScientistQuality Assurance developmentTraining technologistsInstrument troubleshootingCompliance documentation

Required

Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or related field and 4 years of experience as a Medical Laboratory Scientist post-licensure required
Master's degree in related field and 2 years of experience as a Medical Laboratory Scientist post-licensure required
PHD in related field and 1 year of experience as a Medical Laboratory Scientist post-licensure required
Equivalent combination of education and experience
Medical Technologist NYS upon hire required
Histotechnologist (HTL) NYS, restricted to Histology Lab upon hire required
