Responsibilities

Minimize campaign occurrences on forward model programs through the campaign prevent process, improve design robustness and compliance with foundation documents/requirements through leading the technical design review process, and assist with facilitating reviews and decisions leading up to a field service action
Lead the Technical Design Review process for all programs
Lead integrating the campaign prevent and technical design review processes into one process where the separate bits complement each other. Ensure a process timeline and program schedule is current and followed
Conduct up front virtual and downstream hardware campaign prevent reviews
Lead campaign prevent awareness sessions for programs at UNV0
Conduct or supervise reviews (virtual and hardware fresh eyes) for all programs
Raise and agree with closures of fresh eyes review AIMs issues
Lead Prevent Action Closure process for recalls and stop ships, and manage the prevent recurrence process. (Application teams will continue to lead specific PAC actions.)
Lead or run the weekly suspension prevent recurrence meeting
Maintain and keep up to date campaign prevent templates and checklists
Monitoring the NHTSA and other recall sources for potential assessment in the prevent process
Support development of 14D’s, Prevent Action Closure papers, and migration plans
Participate in durability reviews
Use experience in delivering designs into production to not just facilitate a process but assist with proposing recommendations and assisting in training engineers with less experience on how to systematically deliver quality products on time to target
On-site support for collaboration required targeting 4 days per week

Required

BS Chassis/Mechanical Engineering
5+ years of experience in automotive model programs
Understanding of GPDS deliverables and basic Ford engineering tools including Teamcenter and buck environment
PS through launch experience
Experience launching new vehicles
Ability to handle complex tasks and challenging situations under compressed timing

Preferred

Masters Degree in Chassis/Mechanical Engineering
Experience launching new vehicles
Ability to handle complex tasks and challenging situations under compressed timing
Experience communicating with senior leaders, design and release, manufacturing, and suppliers
Outstanding planning, organizational and project management skills with proper follow-up to accomplish multiple objectives

Effective coaching and mentoring skills
Excellent written and oral presentation skills
Ability to build strong effective relationships with cross functional teams (Foundation Chassis, Design and Release, Program Management, Vehicle Operations, and Suppliers)
