VDC Intern
Lee Construction Group is a company specializing in construction services, and they are seeking a VDC Intern to assist with projects in their Virtual Design Construction department. The intern will create detailed drawings, utilize various design software, and collaborate with project managers and engineers to support project coordination.

Responsibilities
Create drawings that exhibit the detail and method of assembly for a variety of projects
Utilize Tekla, AutoCAD, Revit, and other detailing and design software
Participate in designing layout of a multitude of structural components for large scale structures, such as parking decks, hospitals, dormitories, etc
Work closely with the Senior VDC Manager and Project Managers and Project Engineers to assist with project coordination and meetings
Make corrections on drawings and models as indicated on RFI's
Miscellaneous Tracking Logs
Digital Filing Protocol - Structure, Nomenclature, etc
Assist Team with Submission of Submittals and Shop Drawings
Current/Updated Drawing Set and Drawing Log
Submittal and RFI Assistance
Understand Working Drawings as well as Shop Drawings
Able to take hand sketches and create Shop Drawings
Demonstrate a learning orientation. Willing to pursue related educational and training opportunities with intellectual curiosity for job performance improvement on an on-going basis
Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 and Microsoft Project, and experience or ability to learn industry specific tools such as Procore and Bluebeam
Ability to maintain a positive attitude, professional demeanor and perform well under project constraints and deadlines
Commitment to high ethical standards and sound business practices, upholding the core values of pioneering, honorable, professional in their personal presentation, leadership, communications, and actions

Qualification
Required
At least 18 years of age
Be currently enrolled in post-secondary education program
Demonstrate strong and consistent written and oral communication skills. Able to ask thoughtful questions and take a collaborative approach to problem solving
Read, Understand, and Interpret Building Plans (Architectural and Structural)
Understand Key Construction Documents, including Geotech Reports, Drawings and Specifications, Submittals, RFI's, Field Reports/Inspection Reports, Punch Lists/Deficiency Logs, and Contractor's Daily Reports
Make corrections on drawings and models as indicated on RFI's
Miscellaneous Tracking Logs
Digital Filing Protocol - Structure, Nomenclature, etc
Assist Team with Submission of Submittals and Shop Drawings
Current/Updated Drawing Set and Drawing Log
Submittal and RFI Assistance
Understand Working Drawings as well as Shop Drawings
