Responsible Engineer / Principal Responsible Engineer – Fuel Systems

Responsibilities
Performing responsible engineer activities, which include all aspects of fuel subsystem/component design and development including trade studies, layouts, architecture definition, system test & verification, and troubleshooting. These activities may also include participating on a subcontractor management team and will act as the technical point of contact with suppliers for hardware development, qualification, and procurement
Performing system related analysis, such as performance simulation, in support of the development of the fuel subsystem including integration with other aircraft subsystems
System level test planning, execution support, verification, data processing, and troubleshooting
System level evaluations to verify requirements and ensure airworthiness criteria are met
Attending internal program, customer, and/or supplier technical exchange meetings and/or formal program milestone reviews to provide and/or obtain progress status updates
Qualification
Required
Responsible Engineer - Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline AND 2 years of engineering experience
Principal Responsible Engineer - Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline AND 5 years of engineering experience, OR Master's degree in STEM AND 3 years of engineering experience
Your ability to transfer and maintain the final adjudicated government Secret clearance, and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company
Must have professional experience related to the development and integration of fluid subsystems or components
Preferred
Master's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering with focus on thermodynamic, fluid mechanic and/or heat transfer disciplines
Active DoD Secret (or higher) clearance (with a background investigation within the past 6 years or enrolled into Continuous Evaluation) and Special Access Program (SAP) clearance
Experience with aircraft subsystem development, with requirements definition, specification development, component analysis, procurement, source selection, integration and test and verification for advance aircraft
Professional experience related to the development and integration of fuel subsystems or components in commercial or military aircraft applications
Experience performing thermodynamic, fluid mechanic and/or heat transfer analysis related to military/commercial aircraft and subsystems
Experience modeling fluid systems utilizing Amesim, MATLAB/Simulink, Thermal Desktop, Flomaster, and/or STAR-CCM+ software
Familiarity with NX CAD software and Teamcenter PLM
Experience with the military airworthiness certification process using MIL-HDBK-516
Familiarity with fuel systems aircraft installation per MIL-F-17874
Experience interpreting component detail drawings, specifications, installation drawings, and test procedures
Experience in supporting pursuits and proposals, including generating, reviewing, and approving technical proposals and BOEs
Demonstrated experience in leadership related to integrated product teams, including supplier and customer (internal and external) relations
Demonstrated participation in mentoring activities
