Engineer I, Broadcast
Nexstar Media Group, Inc. is seeking a Broadcast Engineer to join the team at WBOY, north central West Virginia's top-rated TV station. The role involves maintaining and troubleshooting broadcast technology and equipment, ensuring compliance with regulations, and assisting in technical infrastructure planning.

Responsibilities
Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair all broadcast technology and equipment at the station and transmitter sites
Ensure station compliance with FCC rules and regulations, as well as local, state, and federal laws
Assist in planning, implementing, and maintaining technical infrastructure, including new technologies
Assist with coordinating fiber connectivity, production setups, A/V routing and patching, audio equipment, graphics systems, and editing systems
Evaluate, install, and maintain IT systems critical to station operations, including media workflows
Assist with the oversight and maintenance the station’s building infrastructure and vehicle fleet, including satellite and ENG trucks
Ensure redundancy and reliability in critical systems for uninterrupted on-air operations
Serve as an operational and technical resource to station staff
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Technical degree in Digital Electronics, Broadcasting, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience
Fluency in English
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
Experience with digital electronics systems in a television broadcasting environment
Proficiency with computers, telephones, copiers, scanners, fax machines and other office equipment
Strong PC/Microsoft Office experience
Experience with fiber connectivity, production setups, A/V routing and patching, audio equipment, graphics systems and editing systems
Experience with digital transmitters, microwave equipment, and other broadcast-related equipment
Experience evaluating, selecting, installing, servicing and maintaining broadcasting industry equipment and information technology systems
Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
