Responsibilities
Position responsible for ensuring that all OR charges are captured in an appropriate and timely manner in the OR Department
Audits and charges accounts for the OR Business Office to accurately capture all of the operating room and anesthesia charges; this includes OR acuity, anesthesia time, implants, perfusion time and OR & Anesthesia supplies
Reconciling, auditing and analyzing all charges pertaining to perfusion, anesthesia and the operating rooms. Basic understanding of excel and ability to create reports for supply charges. Reviews patient account records to identify, analyze, and reconcile charging errors or omissions
Collaborates with Operating Scheduling department to ensure appropriate chart and data analysis for OR charges
As needed, will assist with physical preparation of patient and physical environment according to the age/needs of the patient/population served. Transports and transfers patients as necessary. Functions as a porter between departments ensuring required medical supplies, information, specimens, and products are delivered in a timely fashion
Collaborates with Holding Area Nurse to provide staffing resources to the Holding Area
Ensures safe care to patients, staff and visitors; adheres to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity and quality of service
Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and skills competency; supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as preceptor, mentor and resource to less experienced staff

Qualification
Required
High School Diploma or GED
Ability to read and write and perform duties following oral and written instruction
Ability to work various shifts for extended periods as determined by the manager
Ability to perform duties requiring standing, walking, stooping, bending and lifting up to 20 pounds

Preferred
1+ years of hospital or physician office experience
Customer Services and Operating Room scheduling and/or call center experience
Good computer skills. Microsoft Excel experience
