The University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) is inviting applications for the Coordinator / Senior Coordinator for Campus Activities, Student Involvement & Activities. This role involves working with the Campus Activities team to provide and promote student engagement opportunities through various events while supervising the Rebel Events Board and ensuring effective marketing and budget management.

Responsibilities

Provide and publicize opportunities for students to participate in the life of the campus through events, traditions, and celebrations
Co-advises the student Rebel Events Board (REB) in the design and implementation of student events including Homecoming Week, Rebel Wonderland, REB Movie Night, Rebels After Dark, Open Mic Nights, some Spirit Events and other REB events
Responsible for overall REB marketing and promotion
Ensure events and involvement opportunities are executed within budget and are effectively promoted and appeal to the student population
Supervise the Rebel Events Board paid positions and hourly student staff
Implement needs and impact assessment related to Campus Activities and analyze demographics of participating students and adjust outreach and promotion to broaden student engagement
Enhance a growing sense of campus community, affinity, and involvement

Required

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university as recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA)
Minimum of 2 years relevant full-time experience or 9-months relevant experience as a graduate assistant for Coordinator position
Four years of relevant full-time experience or two years post master's relevant full-time experience and experience with supervising student staff for Senior Coordinator position
Experience with campus activities; plan and implement campus events
Facilitate leadership training for students and/or student organizations
Experience marketing programs and involvement to appeal to students
Presentation skills; communicate effectively both verbally and in writing; excellent interpersonal skills
Translate student development and leadership theory and research into practice
Form and maintain positive working relationships with students, staff, and faculty
Work autonomously and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Analyze situations and develop solutions
Value a high degree of student contact
Work collaboratively with student organizations and University Departments
Knowledge of student development and cultural identity development theory
Ability to work evenings and weekends required

Preferred

Master's degree
Large scale event planning
Experience advising student programming boards
Effective staff supervision
Coordinate with vendors, track expenses and execute within budget
Assessment of student needs and outcomes
Experience working with commuter student populations
