The Senior Engineer – Electrical Design Studies will lead and execute advanced power system studies, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver impactful results for utility clients across North America.

Responsibilities

Lead technical studies involving grounding, insulation coordination, AC interference, and transient simulations
Perform detailed modeling and analysis using tools such as PSCAD, ATP-EMTP, CDEGS, and WinIGS
Translate complex technical findings into actionable insights for clients
Support proposal development, project scoping, and client relationship management
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to internal knowledge sharing
Collaborate with protection, planning, and field engineering teams to integrate study results
Ensure all work meets high standards of quality, compliance, and industry best practices

Required

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution
10+ years of experience in power system studies, with a focus on design studies
Proven ability to lead complex technical projects independently
Strong communication skills and experience in client-facing roles
Willingness to travel occasionally for client meetings and site visits
PSCAD, ATP-EMTP, CDEGS, WinIGS

Preferred

Graduate coursework or certifications in power systems, EMTP, or related areas
Professional Engineer (P.E. or P.Eng.) license
Experience in protection or system planning studies
Prior involvement in proposal development and business development
Familiarity with ASPEN, CAPE, SKM, ETAP, PSS/E, PowerWorld, or Python scripting is a plus
