Responsibilities

Design, deploy, and manage production-ready clusters across multiple database technologies (Scylla, Postgres, Dragonfly, ClickHouse, etc.)
Build automation, tooling, and infrastructure-as-code to streamline lifecycle management of databases, including provisioning, scaling, backup/restore, upgrades, and failover
Tune Linux systems, filesystems, and storage to optimize database performance and reliability
Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve performance bottlenecks at the system, storage, and database layers
Research and evaluate emerging database technologies to support future workloads and advise on their adoption
Collaborate with Engineering teams to ensure database deployments align with application requirements while maintaining reliability and efficiency
Develop and maintain documentation for operational practices, playbooks, and database infrastructure standards

Required

5+ years of experience in site reliability engineering, infrastructure engineering, or database operations at scale
Strong Linux systems expertise (kernel tuning, filesystems, networking, IO)
Hands-on experience operating and tuning distributed and high-performance databases (e.g., Scylla, Postgres, Redis/Dragonfly, ClickHouse, or similar)
Deep understanding of database internals (Replication, compaction, caching, memory management)
Strong skills in automation and infrastructure-as-code and configuration management (Terraform, Ansible, or similar)
Familiarity with observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, etc.) and database-specific monitoring practices
A proactive mindset with a hands-on approach to problem-solving, capable of innovating under pressure and committed to reducing risks and technical debt
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and with various stakeholders
