Engineer Project Manager

As a Project Manager, you will serve as the primary liaison between the customer and the engineering team, responsible for organizing and delivering engineering initiatives that meet customer requirements while maintaining schedule, quality, and financial performance.

Responsibilities
Lead and coordinate the timely completion of engineering service projects to meet or exceed customer expectations
Utilize Agile methodologies, bridging the gap between Agile software practices and traditional (PMP-style) project management principles
Develop innovative solutions to complex challenges, ensuring customer satisfaction while achieving company standards and profit goals
Provide leadership and mentorship, coaching team members to meet project timelines and performance objectives
Demonstrate collaborative leadership across the business unit, applying integrated thinking and continuous improvement practices
Anticipate and resolve issues proactively, showing initiative and adaptability in a dynamic environment
Build and maintain strong working relationships with both internal teams and external customers
Track and update Project Management (PM) Measures of Performance (MOPs) and oversee customer billing activities
Review and interpret Statements of Work (SOWs), contracts, and other legal documents to define project requirements and ensure successful execution
Identify and implement solutions that enhance customer experience and address complex project challenges
Adapt to both customer and StandardAero systems for project coordination, documentation, and billing
Prepare, generate, and distribute engineering reports and technical documentation as required
Simplify complex concepts into clear, actionable project plans
Review and verify labor documentation and customer purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and completeness
Compare estimates and invoices, identifying discrepancies and resolving them promptly
Apply core project management principles, including resource allocation, scope definition, timeline development, budgeting, cost-benefit analysis, and risk assessment
Design and implement risk mitigation strategies, securing stakeholder buy-in and applying the seven steps of continuous improvement
Initiate actions in response to customer service requests and manage scope or order changes
Address and resolve customer concerns efficiently and professionally
Oversee contract and SOW performance, ensuring compliance with all terms and maintaining accountability across both parties
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
5+ years of experience as a project manager within a regulated government environment
5+ years of experience in project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid)
5+ years of experience working in aerospace, manufacturing, or energy
5+ years of experience with project management tools (MS Project, Smartsheet, JIRA or similar project management tools.)
5+ years of experience in leadership with cross-functional teams
5+ years of experience with analytical, problem-solving with risk assessment and mitigation planning
Preferred
SAFe, APM, or PMP certification (or equivalent)
Highly organized and disciplined, with a strong bias for action and excellent time management skills. Self-motivated and able to manage multiple priorities effectively
Strong communicator and active listener who seeks to understand before being understood, and can explain complex concepts clearly and simply
Collaborative and independent, capable of working effectively both as part of a diverse technical team and autonomously
Builds strong relationships with internal and external partners, fostering teamwork, trust, and collaboration
