Responsibilities
Greets patients; receives requisitions and processes accordingly; in depth computer knowledge to include checking in patients, verifying orders at order entry, accessing EMR, generating & sorting of ABN’s, retrieving and delivering lab results/reports, receive and order specimens, filing and scanning outside physician orders
Answering phones and following through on problems, fax reports, instruct patients on proper specimen collection and other related duties as needed
Qualification
Required
Graduated from High School or completed GED requirements
Some experience in medical office environment
Possesses knowledge of medical terminology and general office procedures
Limited knowledge of computer and insurance coverage
Demonstrates ability to communicate with patients in a professional, courteous, and caring manner
Ability to evaluate problem situations and follow through with assigned tasks
Demonstrates consideration for co-workers
Ability to function efficiently in a hectic, fast-paced area
Possess organizational skills
Requires sitting, standing, bending and reaching
May require lifting up to 20 pounds
Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate standard office equipment such as computer, fax, calculators and telephone
Requires normal hearing and vision
Preferred
Some experience in medical office environment
Phlebotomy experience
