Responsibilities
Lead technical direction for refrigeration systems across grocery locations, including system specifications, performance optimization, and monitoring solutions
Develop and implement comprehensive maintenance programs, quality assurance protocols, and sustainable practices for refrigeration systems
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations while creating and maintaining standard operating procedures
Drive innovation in refrigeration technology, focusing on energy efficiency and environmental impact reduction
Design and deliver technical training programs for staff development and system maintenance excellence
Technical leadership in commercial and industrial refrigeration systems
Grocery-specific refrigeration requirements and food safety compliance
Energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives
Program management and cross-functional team leadership
Training and development of technical staff
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree or above in Industrial, Mechanical, Civil Engineering or other related discipline
Knowledge of retail food code and regulations governing grocery retail at local, state, and federal levels
5+ years of experience in commercial/industrial refrigeration systems, with at least 3 years specifically in grocery/supermarket refrigeration
Experience with building automation systems and energy management
Demonstrated experience with medium and low-temperature refrigeration systems, walk-in coolers and freezers, display cases, rack refrigeration systems, and CO2 (R744) refrigeration systems
Preferred
Master's degree in a technical field
3+ years of managing food safety and quality in a large-scale retail or manufacturing environment experience
Certified Retail Energy Specialist (CRES) certification
Experience leading sustainability initiatives and energy optimization projects
Demonstrated success in grocery/retail refrigeration systems design and optimization
