Continuous Improvement Intern

Albany International Corp. is seeking a Continuous Improvement Intern to support a culture of continuous improvement. The intern will assist in training development on lean and Six Sigma methodologies, participate in kaizen events, and contribute to data analysis while collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance business performance.

Responsibilities

Support Continuous Improvement Culture
Assist in promoting a safety-first mentality in all improvement initiatives
Contribute to kaizen events and help document outcomes
Encourage team participation in CI activities and gather feedback on improvement suggestions
Contribute to Continuous Business Performance Improvement
Learn and apply problem-solving tools and techniques (A3, DMAIC, PDCA) under guidance
Support cross-functional teams during improvement events and gather data for analysis
Assist in the implementation of CI tools, maintain documentation, and create visual aids
Aid in the identification of cost-saving opportunities and productivity enhancements
Participate in 5S initiatives and assist in maintaining organization standards
Help track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to daily performance
Take on special projects and miscellaneous duties as assigned by the CI team
Attendance is mandatory to ensure effective team collaboration and productivity

Required

Currently pursuing a degree in Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Basic understanding of statistical analysis and data interpretation
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

Preferred

Familiarity with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other CI methodologies is a plus
Previous internships or projects related to process improvement or operations management are beneficial
Experience in a manufacturing or service industry setting is a plus
Familiarity with process mapping and project management tools
