Accommodations Support Advocate - Temporary
Tennessee Board of Regents (TBR) is seeking a part-time Accommodations Support Advocate to develop accommodation plans for students with disabilities. The role involves communicating with students and their families, assessing accommodation requests, and collaborating with faculty and staff to ensure accessibility.

Responsibilities
To develop and provide accommodation plans, this individual will:
Communicate with prospective students and their families about the process for requesting accommodations
Assess student accommodation requests
Engage students in an interactive process to develop accommodation plans
Determine appropriate accommodations through review of documentation from medical, psychological, and educational professionals and the utilization of professional judgment
Collaborate with faculty and staff on best practices related to accessibility and disability support
Assist with accommodation testing at the Oak Ridge campus
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in counseling, social work, psychology, education, or a related field from an accredited college or university required
Experience Providing Accommodations To Individuals With Disabilities
Demonstrated ability to provide support to individuals experiencing difficult situations
Understanding of legal issues and relevant state and federal laws related to higher education and student affairs administration (including FERPA, ADA, Clery, and Title IX)
Ability to work independently, take personal initiative, and work within a team-oriented environment
Demonstrated ability to work in collaboration with others in the development and delivery of programs across multiple areas
Exemplary written and verbal communication skills are required. Must be able to write concisely and professionally
